Little Birch Recognised in the 2026 Architizer A+ Awards
buck&simple is pleased to announce that Little Birch has received Special Mention in the 2026 Architizer A+ Awards within the Architecture +Craft category.
Recognised internationally as one of the world’s leading architecture awards programs, the Architizer A+ Awards celebrate projects that demonstrate excellence in design, innovation and the built experience across global practice. This year’s program received entries from more than 70 countries, with Special Mention recognition awarded to a select group of projects identified by the jury for outstanding achievement.
For buck&simple, the recognition reflects the intent behind Little Birch from the outset: a carefully resolved residential project grounded in craftsmanship, material integrity and restrained architectural detailing.
Located in Sydney, Little Birch explores the relationship between contemporary residential architecture and tactile construction in residential architecture. The project balances refined spatial planning with a warm and enduring material palette, creating a home that feels both highly resolved and deeply connected to everyday living.
The Architecture +Craft category acknowledges projects where construction quality, detailing and execution form an essential part of the architectural outcome. For our studio, this alignment is particularly meaningful. Much of our work focuses on creating homes where simplicity, proportion, texture and precision are considered with equal importance to spatial experience.
Throughout Little Birch, attention was given not only to form, but to how materials meet, age and interact with light over time. The result is a home defined by calmness, longevity and carefully considered restraint.
At buck&simple, we believe thoughtful residential architecture is often shaped through collaboration between architect, client, builder and craftsperson. This recognition is shared with the broader project team whose care and commitment helped bring the project to life.
