John Shaw Close is an architectural investigation into a traditional inner city typology in a regional suburban context.

With a market conscious target client, the construction methods and material palette were kept minimal and relied on planes of monochrome variations in texture rather than dressy finishes.

Environmental performance was given priority and utilised for it’s inherent aesthetic. The front facade containing solar screens, also control privacy and the abstracted roof form allows for further ventilation.
