Little Birch Featured by The Local Project

Little Birch has been featured by The Local Project, with a dedicated editorial and video profile exploring the home’s bespoke detailing, spatial choreography and resort-inspired approach to family living.

Located in Little Bay, Sydney, the residence was designed for a young family seeking calm, connection and everyday ease within a compact urban setting. The home unfolds through a sequence of split levels, concealed thresholds and carefully framed views, creating a sense of generosity and retreat beyond its modest footprint.

Throughout the project, light, landscape and materiality work together to shape the experience of the home. Sculptural concrete stairs, refined joinery and a restrained palette of timber, stone and concrete establish a quiet architectural language that balances durability with warmth. Custom skylights and layered volumes draw natural light deep into the plan while strengthening connections to sky, garden and surrounding district views.

The Local Project feature highlights the design philosophy behind Little Birch and showcases the collaboration between architecture, interiors and landscape in creating a contemporary family home designed for longevity.

Sasso Nero featured by The Local Project

2026

Sasso Nero has been featured by The Local Project, exploring the home’s interplay of materiality, light, landscape, and spatial refinement.

Set within the elevated bushland of Seaforth on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, the residence is defined by intersecting architectural planes, softened internal forms, and a restrained palette of charred cladding, natural stone, dark oak, and bronze detailing. Skylights introduce natural light deep into the plan, creating a soft atmospheric quality shaped by shadow, contrast, and framed connections to landscape.

Developed in close collaboration with the landscape architect, the garden becomes an extension of the architecture itself, carefully positioning moments of planting and outlook to strengthen the home’s indoor outdoor relationship.

buckandsimple collaboration with coco republic and lawson fenning

We recently collaborated with Coco Republic, who remain at the forefront of design-led luxury interiors for their launch of Lawson Fenning in Australia.
When tasked with finding a location to display their new range they sought a space that encapsulated the core values of craft & and timelessness… being from LA and the quintessential elevated vista views made our Gateway House the prime piece of coastal architecture they needed as the setting.
